With these concerns in mind, we’ve developed the Accommodating Table Privacy Policy, outlined below. This Privacy Policy explains Accommodating Table’s privacy practices for visitors to our Website at https://www.accommodatingtable.com (the “Website”), and the various ways we treat personally identifiable and other information about you and your computer, mobile or other device when you access, visit and/or use the Website. This Privacy Policy does not cover information collected elsewhere, including, without limitation, offline and on sites, applications, destinations or services linked to from the Website.

If we make any material changes to our Privacy Policy, we will post a new policy on the Website and update the “last updated” date set forth above. Therefore, we encourage you to check our Privacy Policy whenever you visit the Website to see if it has been updated since your last visit. If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy, you can contact us at support@AccommodatingTable.com.

1. The Data the Website Collects

1.1. Personal Information Provided by You

The Website generally collects personally identifiable data with your specific knowledge and consent. For instance, when you register for and/or set up an account/profile to access, visit and/or use the Website, you are required to choose a Username, enter your First and Last name, provide your email address, and choose a Password. To complete your Food Profile, you may provide other personal data, such as food preferences, dislikes and allergies. All such information shall be referred to in this Privacy Policy as your “Registration Information.” Other information may also be requested from time to time, e.g., the email addresses of your Guests so that we can link your Guest’s Food Profiles to your Host account. Guests’ email addresses will not be used for any other purposes outside of the functioning of the Website.

1.2. Personal Information Collected Automatically

Our servers may also automatically collect information about you, your online behavior and your computer, mobile or other device. The information collected may include, without limitation, the make, model, settings, specifications (e.g., CPU speed, connection speed, browser type, operating system, device identifier) and geographic location of you and/or your computer, mobile or other device, as well as date/time stamp, IP address, pages visited, time of visits, content viewed, ads viewed, the site(s), application(s), destination(s), and/or service(s) you arrived from, and other clickstream data.

1.3. Personal Data Provided by Third Parties

If you choose to access, visit and/or use any third party social networking service(s) that may be integrated with the Website, we may receive personally identifiable information and other information about you and your computer, mobile or other device that you have made available to those services, including information about your contacts on those services. For example, some social networking services may allow you to push content from our Website to your contacts or to pull information about your contacts so you can connect with them on or through our Website. Some social networking services may also facilitate your registration for our Website or enhance or personalize your experience on our Website. Your decision to use a social networking service in connection with our Website is voluntary. However, you should make sure you are comfortable with the information your third party social networking services may make available to our Website by visiting those services’ privacy policies and/or modifying your privacy settings directly with those services. We reserve the right to treat all personally identifiable and other information about you and your computer, mobile or other device that we receive through third-party social networking services in the same way we treat any of your Registration Information pursuant to this Privacy Policy or any other provisions of the Agreement.

2. How the Website Uses Data About You

2.1. Communication

As an Accommodating Table member, you will receive our transactional business communications (e.g. email address confirmation, administrative messages, etc.) at your email address. If you wish to opt-out of receiving them, you can select the Unsubscribe option at the bottom of the communication. We may also deliver information that is targeted to your interests,

such as banner advertisements. By accepting the User Agreement and Privacy Policy (Terms of Service) when you register, you expressly agree to receive this information.

2.2. Email

When you create an account and/or Food Profile, we ask for personal information such as your name and email address. This personal information is used by us to provide you with materials via email that we may periodically provide you to complement your use of the Website. You may opt-out of our provision of such materials by following the instructions in the email.  We also store the personal data you provide in your account and Food Profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username once you have registered for the site). Website administrators can also see and edit or delete that information. Website administrators do not have access to the content of any individual Food Profiles except to the extent that a user has a Food Profile in the personal Guestbook of an administrator.

2.3. Email A Guest

When a Host uses our Food Profile and recipe matching services, the Host provides the Guest diner’s name and email address. Accommodating Table will automatically send that Guest a one-time email confirming their password once they have registered in order to complete a Food Profile or other content. Accommodating Table uses a Guest’s email address to send this one-time email and to link a Guest’s completed Food Profile with their Host’s account. Accommodating Table users may not use our Food Profile request service to send unwanted spam to others. If a Guest has received a request from a Host to complete a Food Profile, but does not wish to Register on the Website and provide personally identifying data, the Guest’s email will not be used by AccommodatingTable.com for any purpose and will be stored in that Host’s Guestbook until deleted by the Host. Guests who register and complete a Food Profile will have that Food Profile linked to the Host’s account who invited them to the site.  However, if another Host enters that exact Guest email into their Guestbook, the site will automatically share that Guest Food Profile with the new Host.  This eliminates the need for a Guest to complete the same Food Profile multiple times for multiple Hosts. AccommodatingTable.com does not have access to the content of any users’ individual Food Profiles.

2.5. Contests, Promotions, Offers, and Surveys

From time to time our Website may request personal information from users via contests, promotions, offers and surveys. Participation in these contests, promotions, offers, and surveys is completely voluntary and users therefore may choose whether to disclose personal information in connection with these activities. Personal Information requested in these activities might include contact information (e.g., your name and shipping address) and demographic information (e.g., zip code or age level). We might use this information to notify you in the event you have won and to award prizes. We use information we collect in surveys for internal purposes, such as to ascertain the use of this Website and improve its usefulness to users.

2.6. Customer Service

We collect personal information when users submit comments, questions or suggestions to our customer service department. We use the information users provide to respond to their submissions and use the ideas to make site improvements.

2.7. Personal Data Provided to Third Parties

From time to time we may allow access to our database by third parties that provide us with services, such as technical maintenance, market research and other services, but only for the purpose of and to the extent necessary to provide those services. We may also provide your information to our advertisers, so that they can provide ads that meet your needs or match your interests. While we may seek to require such third parties to follow appropriate privacy policies and will not authorize them to use this information except for the express purpose for which it is provided, we do not bear any responsibility for any actions or policies of third parties. Accommodating Table also allows access to publicly viewed site information by third-party search engine “crawlers” (such as Google). Accommodating Table blocks access by these engines to personal information beyond the publicly viewed information agreed to by you when you registered for the site.

2.8. Legal Compliance

We may also provide access to our database in order to cooperate with official investigations or legal proceedings initiated by governmental and/or law enforcement officials, as well as private parties, including, for example, in response to subpoenas, search warrants, court orders or other legal process.

2.9. Business Purpose and Involuntary Transfers

Information about you, including personal information, might be disclosed and/or transferred as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of company assets, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy or receivership in which personally identifiable information could be transferred to third parties as one of the business assets of the company.

2.10. Other Lawful Purposes

We may use personal information as necessary or desirable for the administration of the Website, including, to enforce or apply this Privacy Policy or our other policies or agreements; to initiate, render, bill, and collect for amounts owed to us; to protect our or your rights, property or safety; or to protect our users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful use of our Website; or if we reasonably believe that an emergency involving immediate danger of death or serious physical injury to any person requires disclosure of communications or justifies disclosure of personal information without delay. In addition, we reserve the right to use the information we collect about your computer, mobile or other device (including its geographic location), which may at times be able to identify you, for any lawful business purpose, including, without limitation, to help diagnose problems with our servers, to gather broad demographic information, analyze trends, track your movements around the Website and to otherwise administer the Website. Geographic location information about you and/or your computer, mobile or other device may specifically be used to show your content and sponsored messaging based on geographic location. We may also use, transfer, sell and share aggregated, anonymous data about our users as a group for any lawful business purpose, such as analyzing usage trends and seeking compatible advertisers, sponsors, clients and customers.

3. Local Device Storage and other Tracking Technologies

Although such cookies do not contain any personally identifying information about you, we might link this information to personal information about you. If we do, we will treat it as personal information under this Privacy Policy. We use cookies to provide functional information about your browser, which is recorded in the Website’s logs and which allows us to provide a better experience on the Website. However, if you choose to reject cookies, you might not be able to access products and services we offer which require you to “log in.” You can also manage your advertising cookies by clicking on Privacy Preferences.

3.2. Log Files

We may track log files on the Website (i.e., we log your computer’s IP address into our log files when you visit a page on the Website) and use them to analyze trends, administer the Website, track your movements on the Website, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We might link some or all of this information to personally identifiable information that is stored on a cookie in your computer. We only use information gathered from these activities for our internal marketing and operational purposes.

4. How to Opt-Out of Third Party Tracking Technologies

Our advertising service vendors and other third parties may also use Tracking Technologies to serve you advertisements tailored to interests you have shown by browsing on the Website and other sites, applications, destinations and services you have visited, and to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before to avoid sending you duplicate advertisements, and for other lawful business purposes. In doing so, these third parties may collect non-personally identifiable data, including, for example, the make, model, settings, specifications (e.g., CPU speed, connection speed, browser type, operating system, device identifier) and geographic location of your computer, mobile or other device, as well as date/time stamp, IP address, pages visited, time of visits, content viewed, ads viewed, the site(s), application(s), destination(s), and/or service(s) you arrived from and other clickstream data. The use of Tracking Technologies by third parties is subject to their own privacy policies, not this Privacy Policy, and we have no responsibility or liability in connection therewith. If you do not want the services that Tracking Technologies provide, you may be able to opt-out by visiting https://www.aboutads.info.

5. Transfer of Information

Your information may be transferred to, and maintained on, servers and databases located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as your jurisdiction. However, these policies have been reviewed for GDPR compliance. Please be advised that we may transfer your information to and from any state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction and process it in the United States or elsewhere. Your consent to this Privacy Policy, followed by your submission of such information, represents your agreement to any such transfer.

6. Children

We do not intend, and the Website is not designed, to collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13 years old, you should not register for our services or otherwise provide information on our Website and should ask your parent to do so for you.

7. Information Security and Notification

We use reasonable measures to maintain the security of your Registration Information. The Website is protected by our server’s fire wall.  In addition, we constantly monitor the site for any suspicious registration and delete their access to the site within 24 hours of their registration. However, because no data transmission is completely secure, and no system of physical or electronic security is impenetrable, we cannot guarantee the security of the information you send to us or the security of our servers, networks or databases, and by using the Website you agree to assume all risk in connection with the information sent to us or collected by us when you access, visit and/or use the Website, including, without limitation, your personally identifiable information or Registration Information, and we are not responsible for any loss of such information or the consequences thereof.

Any information that is not personally identifiable information but is publicly displayed on the Website (such as your name and photos associated with recipes accepted for inclusion) might appear in the results of searches conducted on Internet search engines depending upon the search engine’s indexing practices. If you upload recipe images to the Website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the Website can download and extract any location data from images on the Website. Moreover, if you elect to store information, such as your personally identifiable information or other Registration Information, where others may access it, we are not responsible for any loss of such information or the consequences thereof. If you lose a computer, mobile or other device, or it is stolen, that contains your personally identifiable information or other Registration Information, it is up to you to take all the steps necessary to protect yourself.

We use reasonable security measures to store and maintain personally identifying information so as to protect it from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction by unauthorized parties while it is under our control. We use secure socket layer (“SSL”) encryption when transmitting certain kinds of information over the Internet. In the unlikely event that we believe that the security of your information in our possession or control may have been compromised, we will notify you within 30 days of identifying a breach. We will contact you via email, using the email address provided in your account.

8. Correcting/Updating Personal Information and Your Rights to Data

8.1 Do Not Email List

We give you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving commercial email from us by following the opt-out instructions provided in the message. Even if you opt-out in this manner, however, you will still receive account-related messages from us. To get placed on our “DO NOT EMAIL” list, send a request to contactus@AccommodatingTable.com. If your email address is added to the “DO NOT EMAIL” list, you will not receive any opt-in email messages. Please note, however, that your email address being placed on the “DO NOT EMAIL” list does not prevent you from receiving “Host” email invitations, or email messages from third parties from which you may have requested information, products, or services from during or immediately after registration. To opt-out from messages from these third parties, or from any other communications that you receive directly from third parties, you must contact them directly in order to opt-out.

8.2 Your File Data

If you have an account on this Website, you can request to receive the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
